Best known for his sets at London's legendary Trash, Durrr and Our Disco parties, Rory Phillips will be capping off a year of well received studio work and DJ sets with a vinyl only compilation of his remixes from the last 12 months, marking the first release on his new Hungry Beat imprint.
In the last year Rory's mixes have made it into the sets of a diverse range of DJs from right across the dance music spectrum, including the likes of Aeroplane, Erol Alkan, Joakim, Milo, Alex Metric, Rob Da Bank, A-Trak, Annie Mac, Simian Mobile Disco, Soulwax, Andrew Weatherall and Tiga.
The 12" features the exclusive release of his remix of 2009's breakthrough band The xx, transforming 'Crystalised' into a moody, late night synth-pulser, a remix of Riton's Eine Kleine Nacht Musik project, which brings Krautrock to the dancefloor, a shimmering disco rework of gloom rockers White Lies and the Compass Point funk of his remix of Units 1982 classic 'High Pressure Days'.
